Horse Health Basics: August 9
August 9 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Free
Did you know horses can’t vomit? That simple diet changes can trigger a life-threatening colic? Or that too much rich spring grass can become an emergency fast? Horses are hardy, powerful animals, but they also have some very specific medical needs. In this class, you’ll learn practical horse health basics, including:
- Why we manage pasture access and feeding routines so carefully (and what can go wrong when routines change)
- How to spot early warning signs of colic
- Core preventive care: vaccines, deworming strategy, dental floats, and hoof care
- How to respond to common emergencies
Bring pen and paper for notes.
